On March 23, 2017, the China Scholarship Council, Mr. Harvey, and US Embassy Officer, Ms. Cai Hong, as well as Director of the International Department of Henan Provincial Department of Education and his entourage visited Xinlian College to deliver a seminar towards scholarships for future talents. This was the first time that the Confucius Institute and the US Embassy in China have held such seminars in Henan Province. The goal is to provide scholarships for the establishment of a teacher and student exchange program that will be vital towards future talent cultivation and training.
Mr. Wang Guo Peng introduced the development process and specific contents of the Fulbright project in China and the United States. The Fulbright project was founded in 1946, with its advocate former US Senator Fulbright as its naming inspiration. The project plays an important role in educational exchange between the two governments and schools. It was jointly funded and managed by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the US State Department. Implemented by the China Scholarship Council and the US Embassy in China, the program aims to broaden educational and cultural exchange in order to promote mutual understanding among nations while cultivating talents for the new century.
